We’re making significant changes to the scoring formula for our global leaderboards to address a growing issue: some traders are manipulating their ranks by leaving losing trades open, which undermines the integrity of our platform. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be implementing updates to correct this problem.
We’re updating the leaderboard ranking formula to penalize traders with many open losing trades. New performance stats will also be factored into the rankings. Traders with a large number of open losing trades will see the biggest impact. Additionally, trader dashboards will be expanded to include a broader range of performance statistics.
Traders with high win rates but numerous open losing trades will be the most affected, and many will see a significant drop in their leaderboard ranking. We won’t tolerate this manipulation any longer. While the responsibility is ours for allowing this to go unchecked, we’re taking action by adjusting the ranking formula to penalize traders who leave too many losing trades open. The more open losing trades you have, the more your score will be deducted.
We’re also exploring ways to highlight these traders, possibly by adding a warning or risk icon next to their username or showing how many open losing trades and total losses they have on the leaderboard.
Additionally, with the introduction of new performance stats in v2, we will incorporate metrics like total gain, average win/loss, and others into the ranking formula. This will ensure that traders with strong overall performance—not just high win rates—are ranked appropriately.
The trader dashboards will also feature more detailed performance stats, organized into tabs or pages. The default view will remain the same, but users can navigate to see additional stats. One of the key new features will include information on open trades, such as the number of open losing trades and their total negative percentage. We’re even considering showing how your stats would change if those open trades were closed, including how your total gain percentage & average returns would be affected.
These updates are not meant to punish traders but to promote fairness and transparency in the rankings. It’s easy to maintain a 100% win rate by never closing a losing trade, but this creates a false impression for followers, who may assume these traders never lose. This hurts followers when they’re left holding positions with no guidance. By the end of the year, these changes will be in place to protect the integrity of our platform.
